More about the product
The Apple Watch Series 8 combines powerful safety features, advanced health sensors, and long-lasting performance. It introduces a dual‑sensor temperature system for more accurate wrist‑temperature readings, enabling retrospective ovulation estimates and enhanced cycle tracking. With Crash Detection, it can sense severe car accidents and automatically call for help if needed. A Low Power Mode extends battery life up to 36 hours by disabling select features. Running on watchOS 9, it offers richer health insights including sleep stages, an AFib History tracker, and a full Medications app. Built with a durable Always-On Retina display, water resistance (50 m), and recycled materials, the Series 8 is designed for style, health, and sustainability.
Temperature Sensing (Women’s Health)
Uses a two-sensor design — one sensor on the back near the skin, and another under the display — to reduce bias from outside environment.
Samples wrist temperature during sleep every 5 seconds and can detect changes as small as 0.1 °C.
Helps with retrospective ovulation estimates and improves period predictions in the Health app.
Crash Detection & Safety Features
Has a high‑G accelerometer (up to 256 G), advanced gyroscope, and motion sensors to detect severe car crashes.
If a crash is detected and the user is unresponsive, the watch can automatically call emergency services and notify emergency contacts.
Includes Fall Detection and Emergency SOS features.
Low Power Mode
New low-power mode extends battery life up to 36 hours by disabling or limiting some features (like Always-On display, auto workout detection).
Despite saving power, many core functions (like activity tracking and fall detection) still work.
